Bryan is the second child of John, and Catherine, born in Canada duringthe hayday of disco, and the last landing on the moon by American astronauts. Bryan came to Japan in 1994 on the Waterloo-Tottori exchange program with 5 other clueless-Canadians, met Yoko in the summer, had a blast, and then left Japan before Christmas 1994. Bryan returned to Japan the next year after a term at school, to work for Seiko-Epson near Matsumoto in Nagano. During which, any free time was spent travelling to Tottori by motorcycle or bus to see Yoko. After engaging to Yoko, Bryan returned to Canada to finish school (Electrical Engineering at Waterloo), and the two got married shortly after Bryan's last exam. Following university, Bryan and Yoko moved to Texas, USA, to work for a software company called Trilogy (www.trilogy.com). Not long after Yoko became pregnant with their first child, Yuki, and begun the long path of having a family. Two years later Bryan accepted a position in Tokyo, Japan working with a Waterloo classmate, Daniel Kenny, and now works on the HSBC Securites (Japan) tradefloor as a developer, and system support. Digital pictures of Bryan are rare (hence the crap photo above), simply because he mainly takes them. |

Yoko is the first child of Dr. Junichi and Yuko Umezawa, born at the waning of the 60's in Yonago, Japan. Fun, intelligent, and full of energy, Yoko bumped into Bryan while he was on an exchange program. She provided her own view in the Japanese translation of these pages, so only the truly Japanese-English bilingual can see dysfunctional communication at work. |
