| Nebraska Today I not only learned some things about Nebraska which I could never imagined First, main industry of Nebraska is agriculture business such as grains production and livestocks slaughter. Of all these businesses, according to a brochure, Nebraska is the No. 1 in the U.S. as follows; commercial livestock slaughter, commercial red meat production, and great northern beans production. In fact, while driving in Nebraska all I could see was vast ranches and farms. The brochure shows that over 90% of state's land area is ranches or farms and one of every four Second, Nebraska was really flat. That is, there were no mountain Third, here was also a gate area to pioneers to Oregon, California, and Salt Lake City in 1800s. So, today I could see some familiar terms including the Oregon Trail, the Mormon Tragedy, the Pony Express, and the 49s. What the hell could those people imagine to encounter the Rocky Mountains, On the way to Omaha, I dropped at "Archway Monument" along I-80 (above I-80?) which the women staff at tourist information recommended me to go. To tell the truth, although she also recommend me to go to "Pony Express, Gothenburg (www.ci.gothenburg.ne.us)" I did not go there to keep my energy. So, if you go to Nebraska, please visit there for me. Anyway, Nebraska is still like gateway to people. In tourist information, there were the people not who came to Nebraska but who would go back to Chicago from New Mexico, who would go to California, and who would go to D.C. (It's me). |
