Rocky Mountain National Park
It was good choice to change the day of my visit at Rocky Mountain National
Park from yesterday to today. To make matters better, the two things I
had prepared for visiting this park was very effective. One is about mountain sickness. A friend had heavy mountain sickness in
Peru. So, I had been care about mountain sickness because the highest point
of the park is 12, 183 feet, which is almost same high as Mt. Fuji (12,388
feet), Japan's highest mountain. I've never been to such high places. What
worried me more was I just drive through it only a half day. So, to ease
my concern, I decided to stay Dillon, which is near to the park. According
to receptionist in DAYS INN, Dillon is about 9,000 feet high. So, I thought
I wouldn't care about mountain sickness. In fact, I'm ok now. Another one
is cold temperature there. Although I didn't know the actual temperature in advance,
I knew there are some glaciers. So, I brought my down jacket to keep off
the chill. Of course, my jacket worked well. This was the first time for
me to see tundra and an information sign reminded me that tundra can survive
in Arctic regions!!
John Denver
Before starting this morning I listened his "Rocky Mountain High" many times. Music is important tool for inspiring me to go some places. For this reason,
I'm going to listen to theme of Rocky in Philadelphia. Anyway, he is my
favorite singer in the U.S. because his song relaxes me. I don't know why.
Probably, his voice and music fit me and make me feel some nostalgia, I
think. It also promotes my imagination of nature. As a result, I could
talk to God on the top of the park. |
