Rain & Colorado River
As weather forecast had said yesterday, it was rain in the afternoon while I was staying in Dillon, a foot of Rocky Mountains. It's the first rainy day in a long time because there has seldom rained in L.A. Little rain is one of the biggest reasons why I like
L.A. In Japan, I hated long and dismal rainy season from end of May to
end of July. At any rate, I don't like rain for some reason. However, today's
rain made me feel comfortable. For one thing, I've probably missed rain.
Another reason is that I felt rain here was totally different from in other
places. That is, it seemed to have some power. In a rest area on my way
here I found out that Colorado River is from Rocky Mountain; Rain here
mothers Colorado River. In addition, Colorado River flows through Grand Canyon, Arizona to California where I live. It's a long long way.
Thinking about these facts, I cannot help feeling the mighty power of the
mountains, which are around me. Especially, rain in forest and mountain
like here is attractive because it is a source of many things such as trees,
wildlife, insects, plants, rivers, clouds, and us. Anyway, I changed my
plan of visit at Rocky Mountain NP to tomorrow due to this rain. According
to a weather forecast, it will be sunny tomorrow. I hope the forecast will
provide right.
Motels
Today's lodging is DAYS INN which I reserved by phone last night. Although I planed to use Motel 6, it's not available near here. Since last summer I've stayed various motels including Motel 6, Best Western, Days Inn, Quality Inn, Super 8 Motel, and Holiday Inn. In addition to them, there are Ramada Inn, Comfort Inn, and more. Of all my favorite motel is Best Westerns because it is kind of
luxury hotel for its price. Anyway, the breadth, the cleanness, and the
facilities of these motels are enough to me. They almost always offer laundry
and vending machines. Moreover, they usually have pool and sometimes spa.
Although a name, "motel," does not have good image, it is totally
different here. (test) |
