Small Towns (Beaver)
It was the city I stayed last night. I changed my mind although I was going to stay Ceder City or St. George because the room rate was much cheaper and I feel small town was more appropriate in this journey. That is, I can go to big cities and famous towns anytime from now on. However, small town like Beaver is far from me. Whenever I pass these small towns I wonder what people do, how people enjoy their life, etc. I guess most of them are satisfied with their life. Some people go out to big cities to realize their dream. I wish I could spend more time going around the town because Beaver is a historic place, which was settled in 1856, and still has some old houses according to a book.
View Areas
Although I had made use of rest areas to take a rest, I could find another
ways today. It was for view areas. There were four view areas in Utah and
I stopped at all of them. They were good place to me. First, I can enjoy
fine vistas there. Second, there are some rest rooms. Finally, to me it
is a good place to take a nap because it looks safe.
Colorado National Monument
It was a little different from what I have expected. My true impression
was so-so not only because it was not as magnificent canyon as Grand Canyon
but also because it was not so magnificent valley as Monument Valley. To
make matters worse, it began to rain and blow guns on my way. After all, I
skipped some view points and went to motel. I guess I became tired to see
western wilderness and magnificent rocks because I had enjoyed such scenery
too many times since last summer. Anyway, it was the last time to see such
rocks in this journey. |
