New England 2
Maine
Welcome sign of Maine showed "Vacation State." So, Main is a
summer resort as Florida is a winter resort. More interestingly, it is
said in a brochure that Main is the best state where children are educated.
In addition, I could see "Main is recognized as one of the most healthful
states in the nation: summer temperatures average 70F and winter temperatures
average 20F." But I can't agree with it because 20F is too cold and
we easily have a cold.
Massachusetts (Boston)
Of many sites to see in Boston, I chose to visit Bunker Hill along Freedom
Trail. I had two reasons. First of all, Boston was the main battlefield
in the Revolutionary War. Second, Bunker Hill is the most famous point in these battlefields. As
usually said, the point would be important because soldiers can look over
all Boston areas from there. I recognized it when I went up the top of
the Monument which has almost 300 steps. Another famous point, the Boston
Tea Party Ship & Museum, is closed due to the danger of terror. It
will take long time until backing peace.
Vermont
Although I wanted to visit some places in Massachusetts such as Harvard
University, Lexington, and Concord, I rushed for Vermont because visiting
Vermont Welcome Center was more important. Vermont Welcome Center was the most
beautiful and cleanest one I've ever seen. It just looked like museum.
I could know the reason after looking over it. According to their official
map, this welcome center was recently built.
While driving, I hit upon an idea that I should compile the information
of each state such as state nickname, motto, etc. Although similar site
has already existed, I can gather that information by myself through this
trip. In addition, arranging it will help me to deepen my understanding
of each state. Moreover, someone might need such information. So, I decided
to do so during this travel by making use of the guide, map, and official
site of each state. |
