Prince of Peace Parol 9

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" Isaiah 9:6

Once the Philippine Christmas lantern is displayed at home or in public places, Filipinos will tell among their family members and the public about the birth of Christ and the real meaning of Christmas. With raging wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine and the on-going debate in Japan to revise Article 9, which is the peace clause of the Japanese constitution, the Parol provides its own purpose and meaning in these
turbulent times, a symbol of the guiding star of Bethlehem. On its fifth
year, a special edition of parol, the Prince of Peace Parol 9 highlights
the 2005 Christmas Lantern Campaign.

With the Japanese art work (save Article 9 insignia) placed in the middle of the traditional folk arts craft of Filipinos (the parol) this fusion creates fresh image and interest to peace loving Japanese and Filipinos as well as people of nations enabling them to work on the importance of saving the Article 9 of the Japanese constitution.

The hand crafted image of parol will keep peoples mind on the need to be united and to move as one in saving the Article 9 of the Japanese constitution. Therefore, the parol which is fused together by the Japanese and Filipino art ingenuity in the name of peace is the parol of the Prince of Peace.

The people’s unity and solidarity in following the example of Jesus Christ as the Prince of Peace is to link the wisdoms, the mission and vision, arts and crafts, cooperation and solidarity action of Japanese, Filipinos and people of nations rolled into one.
