What is Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights?

The cultural activity is to search for the hidden talents and skills of Japanese children with foreign parentage and to be exhibited and performed under the theme of child’s right education. The campaign education drive gives focus on the rights of Japanese children with foreign parentage.

What are the reasons behind proposing to hold Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights?

1.  Japan is a signatory to the Convention On the Rights of Children and yet children’s rights protection is hardly heard and known in public.

2.  There’s a strong need to promote child’ rights in Japan especially rights of Japanese children with foreign parentage.

3.   An educational activities for the promotion of child’s rights and an end to racism and discrimination is necessary for value formation and for building better family and community relations.

 Objectives of Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights

 1.  To discover, develop, and promote the skills and talents of Japanese children with foreign parents in the field of music/singing, dancing, drama, visual arts, multimedia arts, and others.

2.  To provide added venue for children’s self development and confidence building.

3.  To educate on the child’s rights and on the international conventions for the promotion of child, family and migrants rights and welfare.

4.  To promote harmony, unity, cooperation, friendship and camaraderie among and between Filipinos, foreign migrants and Japanese.

5.   To provide venue for cultural ties and exchanges among and between Filipinos and Japanese public.

6.  To enhance self-development and teamwork among family members and the community at large participating in the events.

 Categories of Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights

Best child musician/singer, dancer, visual artist (Junior High School and below)

Best young musician/singer, dancer, visual artist (18-25 years old)

Best mother or father musician/singer, dancer, visual artist

Best Internet website of child/mother/father or whole family

Best mother-child and mother-father-child performer/arts

The Most Cooperative Filipino community/neighborhood for the promotion of culture and arts and as recipient of the community based computer literacy program.

Who will be the judges for Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights?

Well distinguished Japanese and Filipino in related arts that are not related to any contestants, staff of Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights and officers of sponsoring organizations.

For the most cooperative Filipino community/neighborhood will be judged based on the accumulated points of cooperation in holding Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights.

 What are the prizes in joining Talent Quest for the Promotion and Protection of Childs Rights?

Trophy and certificates of distinction will be given to those with outstanding skills and talents in performing and visual arts. There will also be consolation prizes.
